9″ x 16″ – Oil Painting on Linen
Open Wide is an experiment or exploration of a thicker painting process. The mood of the piece is also more aggressive, immediate and raw. The intention is to balance the mood with the brush work while focusing in on the face. Open Wide is intentionally different from my main body of work. In order to keep my work fresh it’s important that I allow for divergent subjects and experimental approaches to painting.
