Letting Go

Letting Go

14″ Diam – Oil Painting on Aluminum

This colorfully quiet oil painting was inspired by a rough year health wise in 2019. As with a lot of my paintings, they are journal entries. This painting is no different. It is a symbol of my journey while healing from surgery and coping with my cancer diagnosis and treatments. In “Letting go”, the hands are delicately touching or holding onto the figure.  Or is is a memory, a belief, a person or a dream? Maybe a part of the healing process is knowing when to let go. . .

Letting go is often a difficult choice to make in life. We have all had to let go of something, and I see this piece as an illustration of one such moment.
